I’ve setup http://gearandboats.com to be a free resource for bay area boaters to post gear and boats for sale. In the process of buying and selling used gear and boats I found that there was no one definitive and free source for boating classifieds in the bay area.

Craigslist has a heavy focus on runabouts and not many large boat sailors frequent it. Latitude 38 is excellent but if you want to sell something small or give it away it’s not worth the cost of posting. So this is my attempt to rectify that. You may see some advertising on the site to try and help offset my costs but otherwise the site is completely free! I didn’t build this site to make money, I did it because I sail the San Francisco bay and need a good place to buy and sell used gear.
